Do I pay for Pro separately?
No. There is one purchase, the maXfolders unlock on the Mac App Store. It covers both apps.

Get maXfolders Pro
Pro is maXfolders without the sandbox: the embedded terminal, Finder integration, the Git Assistant, and SFTP, WebDAV, S3, Dropbox and iCloud Photos connections. It is not sold separately. Buying maXfolders on the Mac App Store includes a Pro license, and this page explains how to claim it.
How it works
Four steps from purchase to Pro

Try Pro free for two months.
Download it from this site and use everything. No payment is asked for during the trial.

Buy maXfolders on the Mac App Store.
Install maXfolders and choose Unlock maXfolders in the app: a one-time $9.99 purchase. Buying during the trial is fine, and the purchase unlocks the Store app straight away.

Copy your Pro license.
In maXfolders, open Settings → License and choose Get Pro License. The app shows a license made from your purchase. Copy it, or choose Open in maXfolders Pro to hand it over in one click.

Activate Pro.
In maXfolders Pro, open Settings → License, paste the license and choose Activate. That is it: the trial reminder disappears and Pro stays unlocked.

Questions
What if the trial runs out first?
Both apps ask you to complete the purchase to keep using them. Buy the unlock in maXfolders, then paste your license into Pro. Nothing is lost in between.
How many Macs can use one license?
Up to five of your own Macs with the same license.
What about the next major version?
A purchase covers one major version, and its Pro license with it. A new major version starts with its own free two months, then needs the new unlock, in the same way.
What happens if I get a refund?
If Apple refunds the purchase, the Pro license it came with stops working the next time Pro checks in.
What data is involved?
Getting a license sends Apple's signed receipt for your purchase to maxfolders.com so it can be verified, along with an anonymous install id. No name or email is needed. See the Privacy Policy.
